2013 Korean Spring Fashion - Introduction

It's been one heck of an October for me. Instead of celebrating Halloween and getting to dress up in the craziest costumes, I was in my room typing up my various research proposals into the late night every night. I'm approaching the end of that. In fact, I submit my last assessment tomorrow morning! Furthermore, I got accepted to do an internship with the 2013 Harvard Worldmun! Because of this, I am forced to postpone my return to Korea till after my internship, which will be at the end of March. April is a beautiful time to go to Korea, mainly because of the spring weather and, most importantly, the cherry blossoms! Cherry blossoms are my favourite flowers and it would be a dream come true to go to the cherry blossom festivals.
Nothing can go wrong with chiffon, especially in spring. Enjoy and be inspired!

2012 Korean Summer Fashion - Fan Bingbing 范冰冰

I first saw her star alongside Zhang Ziyi in 非常完美 (Sophie's Revenge). She is so gorgeous and I especially love her big eyes.

I started to research on her outfits, and I have to say that I was absolutely blown away by all her beautiful, sparkling, and floor-dominating gowns that oozed with luxury and designer class. See for yourself.

I am now getting the impression that she wears these dresses on a daily basis. She is simply stunning in all these dresses. Every colour seems to suit her. The bigger the dress, the better it seems.

2012 Korean Summer Fashion - Cross-border inspiration

Shanghai is becoming a fashion hotspot for emerging fashion designers as well as bigger global fashion brands to make their storm heard in the Asia region. I wouldn't say Shanghai Fashion Week is underrated, because it is well-attended by international stars. However, it is the fashion week that does not seem to be talked about enough. Take myself for example, with my increasing interest in Asian fashion, I have to admit that I have only seen myself looking at primarily Korean fashion and trends. It could because I have lived in Korea, so this is what I am more familiar with. In addition, young Korean women today - one is able to observe this in Seoul - are one of the most well-dressed women out there today.
Now, I've decided to make a collage or collection of fashion coming from and inspired by China's biggest city and emerging hot destinations for the Fashion industry.

ZHANG ZIYI
Zhang ZiYi is one of the biggest names coming from China today. Till now, she maintains a high sought-after reputation for her acting skills, martial arts skills, and impeccable designer taste. She has been an ambassador for various fashion brands. Her small, round face and slim figure stands as a representative for other people with similar builds (like me). It's definitely a big plus to see role models like her being chosen to represent big fashion houses.

Navy chiffon dress!

Continuing with my current fad of chiffon dresses, it never occurred to me that a chiffon dress would look amazing in a navy blue colour. The usual colours I've been able to see in stores are of neutral colours, such as pink, cream, mocha, grey, and light green. I found online an amazing navy blue chiffon dress (and they have one in my size too), which costs around AU$45 dollars. I am a big fan of navy blue, and it's only occurred to me now that I don't even have a navy blue dress. So, this gives every reason to just buy, because I will most likely not be able to find one like it in stores in Melbourne. I am a fantastic shopper!

쇼핑... 가자

With the perfect weather lined up for the day, it's hard not to be tempted to go out and go shopping. Sometimes, the thought that there will be so many people doing the same thing you're doing doesn't even seem to bother you any longer.
My shopping list at the moment is quite on the expensive side.

1. Nikon J1 camera or a Panasonic Lumix GF2 (both cameras have interchangeable lens, are light, and look fabulous!)

2. A chiffon dress.

3. More stock of Korean dramas.

4. And anything that's cute to have.

Fortunately, my fad for winter clothes and outfits has started to fade, a result of much-spent hours surfing the web on winter outfits and online shopping. Now, what's really on my mind saving money so that I can go shopping in Seoul!
